RCSI Students who miss up to and including 3 days from lectures or clinical attachments DO NOT need a note for College, as per RCSI policy. See this document.
The institution’s position:
- If you are unable to attend due to illness, you should let the relevant people in RCSI know by 10am on the day.
- You DO NOT need a medical certificate if you miss 3 days or fewer. This is even the case for assessments. You DO NOT need a consultation with a GP unless you are very worried about your health, or your symptoms are severe. See this link for self-management of minor illnesses.
If you are symptomatic with possible Covid symptoms:
o you should NOT attend campus until 48 hours after symptoms have resolved.
o you MUST NOT attend Mercer's
o You DO NOT need a medical certificate. If you test positive RCSI will accept a photo of an antigen test with your student card picture. You Do NOT need a med cert even though you will be out for more than the three days. The test is enough.
