Our Symptomatic COVID-19 Testing Form ››

The testing criteria for COVID-19 have changed. If you were referred for testing prior to Tuesday 23rd March, all test appointments for Friday 27th March and after have been cancelled (except the tests for healthcare workers). If you are still symptomatic and/or your symptoms have worsened, please call us.

For results queries please check this link

You may be waiting a number of days for your test result. Most patients will get their results within about 5 days. This is completely out of our control and we will not know the results before you.

Patients who are most ill and in hospital are being prioritised so that they can get their results in 12 to 24 hours.

Continue to self-isolate while waiting for your test result.

Do not go to or phone your GP for test results. It is important that our phone lines are kept open for people who need help. If your symptoms have worsened however, please do call us.

The most up to date Information about Coronavirus can be found here

Information on self-isolating can be found here

Thank you for your understanding and support!

A modern dynamic GP doctors' practice in the heart of Dublin’s city centre, behind Stephen's Green Shopping Centre.

Providing the full range of general practice care to public and private patients, Mercer’s Medical Centre is a Primary Care Research Practice for the Irish College of General Practitioners and we participate in the training of student doctors and in the specialist training of future General Practitioners.

Opened in 1990 as a GP Practice by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and located on the site of the old Mercer Hospital, we are committed in our efforts to provide healthcare for the sick and needy of Dublin, honouring the legacy of the founder of the Mercer Hospital, Mary Mercer.  Our premises have been recently renovated and the practice is the largest in Dublin city centre.

We are active advocates for positive change in our health services.
