Out of hours

For urgent medical advice or in case of an emergency outside our regular hours, the Practice is part of a rota run by local GPs (DubDoc). This is currently located in the outpatient department of St. James's Hospital until the 8th April 2026, when it is moving to the Meath Primary Care Campus.

You should inform DubDoc that you are a patient of Mercer's Medical Centre. 

DubDoc is an appointment only GP service located at the Outpatients department of St. James's Hospital, Dublin 8.

This service is for patients who need urgent medical attention that cannot wait to be seen by their usual GP. 

Opening Hours:

Monday - Friday:  6pm – 8am (lines open from 5:30pm)
Weekends & Bank Holidays: 24 hour service
Midweek (10pm onward) and weekends/bank holidays (6pm onward) - a GP will be available for phone consultations. Home visits are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Fees for the above services are payable directly by the patient, unless you hold a valid medical card. 
These services keep us informed by sending a medical report to us after your attendance. This information is then transferred to your own personal electronic medical file in the Practice.
